Community Anchor
Community anchors are independent community-led organisations. They are multi-purpose and work to provide solutions to local problems and challenges. They are there for the long run, not the quick fix, and are often the driving force in community renewal.
In 2024, Richmond Yorkshire CIC was granted 'Community Anchor' status by North Yorkshire Council and over the past year it has embraced the role, developing a programme of activities - some of which are already up and running. Our aim is to bring life to small projects that can make a difference to residents in the local area and we're always happy to discuss new ideas and work with different partners.
Coming up in 2025...
We'll be:
-
continuing to support the development of a proposal for a Bike Park
-
launching a Community Connectors network to help people find the help they need when they need it
-
partnering on a community response plan in the event of an emergency
-
offering a 'volunteers' hub' where anyone interested in being a volunteer can find out about opportunities
-
coordinating an Experience Work programme for young people
-
... and so much more!
